The elegantly designed Orpheus Zero CD transport features a sleek, brushed aluminium exterior to match Orpheus’ pre- and power amplifiers and DAC. It is a reference level compact disc transport (Orpheus Zero CD Drive), designed to fit a single rack unit (482 x 370 x 44 mm).
Like all other Orpheus components it employs an ultra-compact signal path layout for significant gains in audio performance.
The green dot-matrix display features an input naming function that allows the owner to customize names up to ten characters long for each source component.
The display has five user-selectable levels of illumination from full brightness to OFF.
In conjunction with the front panel display, Orpheus’ specially developed menu navigation system becomes an ingenious communications centre for efficient, intuitive control with minimal fuss.
The CD well can be illuminated when open to assist in inserting or removing a disc.
A phase inverter (0°, 180°) allows the listener to compensate for phase inversion elsewhere in the system or in the recording itself.
Orpheus Zero incorporates a full set of practical features for convenience and ease of use. In addition to Repeat mode (one track or all tracks) and Time display (track elapsed time, track remaining time, disc elapsed time or disc remaining time), Key Repeat rate allows you to send a command multiple times with a single press of a button instead of having to press repeatedly.
With 100 dB dynamic range and phenomenally low levels of residual noise and harmonic distortion, Orpheus Zero delivers a stunning level of performance from compact disc to rival the so-called high-resolution digital formats.
